okay so its now about day 10 or something but our first time back to our room before midnight to post so lets try and catch up a bit here..

our last couple of days in South Dakota…

we spent one day at Twyla’s shop making drapes and table drapes and generally playing in her shopP1030711 P1030714

then Tuesday we took a quick trip to Mitchell to see the famous Corn Palace.. this was an example of the homes we saw along the way.. just gorgeousP1030731

this is the side view – yes it is all filled with sweet corn cobs grown especially each year by one contracted farmer in 13 different colours. it takes two months to put up the pictures and another two for the border. it started over 100 years ago  P1030733 P1030742

inside is a basketball stadium and concert arena and more corn pictures.

we had a quick stop at one antique store, one gift store, a very quick trip to the western store for Deidre but missed the quilt shop thinking it was closed – duh, we just had to open the door – but i did take a peek in the window…

we then had to get back to the bank and to prepare an aussie dinner for Grandma and Grandpa and the family at the farm…

we went for a tour of the calf shed – where there were about 17 cats including this gorgeous little kitten who wanted to come with us – sorry girls, i had to leave her

after some very careful packing we loaded up Twylas car to the brim for the trip back to Minneapolis in the morning for the sharp end of the trip
