The time had come for my arrival (well delivery) to the Convention Centre in Kansas City Missouri – this centre was a little different to others I had vended at – very long and skinny – the row numbers went right up to 3300!!

I was delivered and left to my own devices due to circumstances changing so my camera did not even make it out until the booth was almost finished… so, no pics of the craziness of setup!

But I think it ended up looking quite good…

photo 71 It was a dream come true to have a booth full of projects made from my very own fabrics… how exciting – but also scary, putting my heart out on my sleeve (well on fabric) what if no-one liked it? it was the biggest risk I have probably ever taken but I had faith in my wonderful fabric company – and they had faith in my designs to print them so my fingers and toes were all crossed….photo 74  Sarah very generously made these gorgeous boxes from my printed fabrics – and we filled them with wrapped sweets – yes 5” charm squares of the fabrics.. mmm look good enough to eat…IMG_4655 We showed our new Besties range of patterns – thanks to Belinda who stitched the Colourque’d versions  for me and made up the quilt at the last minute…photo 64

And Fee, who made up these quick little needlebooks which were very popular – using the secondary panel from the fabric range..photo6 1

I had three fantastic Schoolhouse sessions on setup day – these are 30 minute information sessions where I get to ‘talk’ to shopowners, try and teach them something and try and get them to like my patterns :)  I taught 100 ladies how to thread a needle and tie a knot!! and many came back to my booth to learn the secrets of a perfect backstitch…

Quiltmarket is also a time to catch up with old friends and meet many new ones. I was welcomed so warmly into the Red Rooster family and think this will be a home I will be happy to be at into the future.

I also had a display on the Red Rooster booth and the lovely Nanci had made a few extra things from my fabrics.. She also made and wore the cutest little shirt one day but alas, no photo.. please send Nanci?

My Vignette – Life is Beautiful…P1100183 P1100184 P1100185 I just love seeing it in fat quarter bundles, they did not last long… thankfully I got a photo of the last two before they dropped into Holly’s bag for the trip home to Pierre.P1100186

I have many more pics but you would be well and truly over this by now.. I promise to show more pics of all of my new patterns and projects – oh and maybe a few giveaways and things I brought back with me over the next week if you stick around…

on leaving for today , as you can see above I have many wonderful friends who helped me to get to this place and without your support, encouragement, true friendship and neverending assistance I wouldn't be here at this place in my life.. I cannot thank you enough in words or even fabric (smile) but just know it really does mean a lot to me.

hugs for today

Helen
