I know, i haven't kept the updates coming but is has been very slow progress so not a lot to show. I can tell you we are almost over cooking on the BBQ in 4 degree heat at nights after 4 weeks of no kitchen!

So, last week we had plaster …. yay…. no more holes in walls and floors for our hard earned heat to escape from at nights.P1040183  P1040182

next arrived our cabinets, one screw at a time…P1040185

see the light streaming in…. we redesigned the whole kitchen around that all day sunlight filtering in to warm the house, fingers crossed it is going to be worth it…so far so good

the first drawer assembled…..P1040187

and now we have nine….. and yes I have filled them – and we even have a temporary bench top, but alas no power or light….just lots of wires sticking out of holes…

and another 8 drawers ready and filled, even with handles on them

two coats of paint on the outside, first green, woops no, needs to be cream, woops, wrong cream… oh well third time lucky this week – I am pretty sure I have the right colour tin out now…

our outside renos have been progressing also. a bit of staining to finish, two new gates and a clothesline to come. Then the new fireplace can be lifted into position for our outdoor winter nights…

more news tomorrow…. we have a new girl in the house…..yes that makes 5 of us! Ophelie arrived late Friday night from France and she will be spending the next 3 months with us and going to school with Molly – just in time to study for Molly’s French exam on Tuesday…. I will show her to you all soon… she is just lovely…

and is it a coincidence? I have my first project published in the wonderful French Quilt Mania magazine
